Good morning everyone,

 

I want to take a moment to welcome all of our students back to school!!  The first week is always the hardest for some of you, but we will make it through together!  For those who are new this year, I like to send out a weekly update throughout the season to keep everyone up to date on what is happening or any changes that may occur. 

 

Rehearsal:

We have our usually rehearsals on Tuesday and Thursday from 6PM to 9PM.  We want to take some time to really hash out movement 3 and review some things in movement 2 in preparation for our first game on Friday.

 

Football Game:

This week's (FIRST) football game is an away game against Manheim Township.  Since it is a home game, that means we will be performing pregame.  We have not made the determination as to whether or not we will wear uniforms or summer uniforms on Friday.  I will let you know as soon as possible when we do.  We will be departing the school at 4:45PM (as in already on the buses and leaving at that time).  You can either stay after school until we leave or go home and come back.  If you do that, I would like you to please be back at the school by 4:30PM at the latest.

For those asking about what time football games are over, this is near impossible to gauge.  It depends on what happens during the game.  Do they keep stopping the clock?  Does the clock keep running?  Do we go into overtime?  These are all factors that must be taken into consideration.  Most games tend to be over around 9:30PM.  This is the roughest estimate I can give.  I will keep all parents updated through the BAND app with when we leave the games and when our ETA back to the school is.

 

Hoagie Pick Up and Boosters Meeting: Pick-ups for hoagie orders is tonight starting at 5:45PM at the uniform trailer by the school.  The band boosters meeting is also tonight at 7:30PM for all parents who are able to make it.

 

Competition:

Our first competition is at Cedar Crest HS on September 6th.  We will send out more details about this closer to the date.
