Good morning everyone,

 

After a week of rain and sickness, I hope everyone has been able to get some rest this weekend to recover!  Many of us needed it, including me.  We have our next competition this weekend along with another away game, so we have a lot of work to do.  Everyone needs to come in focused and ready to work, as there is a lot we need to cover this week to be prepared for Saturday.

 

Rehearsal:

We have our usual rehearsal on Tuesday and Thursday from 6PM to 9PM at Chapman Stadium.  We will have rehearsal on Saturday starting at 10am.  It is possible that we could get some rain tomorrow.  As of now, we plan to be outside for rehearsal.  We will let you know if we need to be inside.  It looks like it should die down around the time of rehearsal, so hopefully we’ll get lucky!

 

Football Game:

This week’s game is an away game against Bishop McDevitt High School.  Last year, we were the only band that was there and we performed during halftime.  I anticipate that being the case again this year, but I will let you know when I get official confirmation from athletics.  As of now, buses will be leaving at 5:15pm, so call time will be 4:45pm.  As always, students are welcome to stay after school if they want.

 

Competition:

Our next competition (Big Spring) is this weekend (September 26th)!!!  Our rehearsal on Saturday will start at 10am.  We will be departing the school around 4:45pm, with our performance scheduled for 7:30pm.  We will be the first group on after the intermission.  We will wrap up our rehearsal around 3pm so we can load the trailers and be prepared for Feed the Band.  The awards ceremony for Big Spring is scheduled for 8:45pm.  Once we are on our way back to CV, I will send out a notification out in the BAND app.

 

For Competitions and Away Football Games:

When we go to competitions or away games, you must provide a note to us before the game/competition if you plan to take your student home with you right after.  This allows us to keep track of attendance and know where everyone will be.  Before the student leaves, we must see them with their parent so we know that they are with the adult taking them home.
