Good morning everyone,

 

I want to thank you all for a great first game!  From the students who put on a great performance (both on the field and in the stands) to the parents who helped with the front ensemble and concessions, this was a huge success!!  The game may not have ended how we wanted, but I couldn’t be happier with how things went.  Now we just have to survive our first week of school!!  At least it’s a four day week followed by another one……..

 

Rehearsal:

We have our usual rehearsal on Tuesday and Thursday from 6PM to 9PM at Chapman Stadium.  On Thursday, we will be packing the equipment trailers to prepare for our first away game.  Since this is the first time that we must pack the trailers, it can be a little bit of a process.  Please be aware that some of your students will get out a little later compared to a normal rehearsal.  As the season progresses, this process will become faster, so please be patient as we work out how everything must be maneuvered!

 

Football Game:

This week’s game is our first away game at Carlisle High School.  We will be leaving for Carlisle at 5:15pm, so I would like all students to be at the school by 4:45pm.  Since we are the visiting band, we will be playing during halftime.  I will give you an update for an estimated time when I get that information.  Students (as always) should make sure to bring cash and/or card to pay for concessions during their break.

 

When it comes to away games, there is no way to accurately determine when we will return to the school.  However, we will keep you updated on the BAND app.  When the game is over and we are on our way back to CV, I will send out an update with an ETA.  Students will also be asked to text parents to let them know, so there will be plenty of notifications!

 

Competition:

Our first competition of the season is September 12th at Cedar Crest High School.  I will send out more details about the competition next week.
